Meet Dean Mellway
About the pooltutor

If you are a regular visitor to Green Bank Broken Cue, Dooly's, Tailgaitors, or the Cue and Cushion, then you have probably seen me.  Sometimes I play in my wheelchair but most of the time, I am that short guy walking with a limp and always ready to play.  I started out as a snooker player in the early seventies and was the Gold Medalist in Snooker at the 1976 Paralympics in Toronto.  I turned my passion to 8 ball in the early nineties and have played competitively in several leagues and at countless tournaments ever since.  I have always tried to help anyone interested in improving their performance at this wonderful game and as a result, have been encouraged by my friends to offer my expertise as the pooltutor.

I have been a student of this great game for over 30 years.  I have read extensively, surfed the web for hours, and played against great players from around the world, accumulating a knowledge base that is guaranteed to help you improve your game.  In June 2009, I successfully completed the Billiard Congress of America Recognized Instructor program, adding proven teaching techniques and approved course material to my instructional courses.  Whether you are a beginner looking to understand the basics of playing pool, or a committed league player, constantly plagued by inconsistency, the pool tutor program is for you.

Lessons are individually developed based on your level of play and can be arranged evenings or weekends, on your home table, in the privacy of my home, or at Dooly's, Tailgaitors or Greenbank Broken Cue.
